Overview
Adobe Firefly is the generative AI engine built into the entire Creative Cloud suite. It lets you generate images from text, fill or erase areas (Generative Fill), extend photos, and create stylized text effects, all directly in Photoshop or Illustrator.
Its main strength: models are trained only on licensed Adobe Stock content and public domain material, making it legally safe for commercial use. A French-language interface is available, and it is designed for non-technical users.
Our verdict
Firefly is the obvious choice if you already use the Adobe suite or if legal compliance is a priority. For an SME without Photoshop, the value proposition against Canva Magic Studio is debatable: choose Firefly when you need native integration within professional creative workflows.

What drives the bill up
Firefly is paid via monthly generative credits that don't roll over: an off month is a wasted month. Watch the high-tier pricing shown on the site: they include a 30% discount valid only in the first year (Pro Plus and Premium revert to €55.91 and €223.68/month after). Paid plans also include Adobe Express Premium and Photoshop, which changes the comparison against a standalone image generator.
