Botpress is a platform, originally open-source, for building AI agents that don't just answer but also act: call APIs, consult a knowledge base or trigger actions in third-party tools. The visual studio works for non-technical users building a simple first agent, while a development kit (Agent Development Kit) lets developers go much further on business logic. The studio interface is available in English, French and Spanish.
Billing changed in May 2026 from a per-message model to a per-conversation model with included AI quota: a free pay-as-you-go plan exists, Plus starts around $79/month and Team around $450-500/month. User feedback highlights rich features and many integrations (Slack, WhatsApp, Zendesk), but also a steeper learning curve than purely no-code tools like Typebot or Landbot, plus documentation sometimes seen as sparse.
