Overview
CodeRabbit installs on GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps or Bitbucket to auto-review each pull request: it generates a summary of changes, sequence diagrams, detects bugs and security flaws, suggests fixes in one click and can even generate missing tests. An integrated chatbot lets you ask questions directly in pull request review threads. The tool also integrates into AI editors (Cursor, Windsurf) and offers a CLI to run it locally before pushing.
The free plan covers public repos and open source without limit; private repos require the Pro plan ($24/month per active developer billed annually, $30 monthly) or Pro Plus ($48/month). The interface stays in English, but generated review comments can be configured to appear in French (and in several regional variants). A documented public API (OpenAPI) is available, with broader access on Enterprise contracts.
Our verdict
Best for development teams, even small ones, wanting an automated first line of code review before human review, with excellent value on open source projects. Not for you if your team uses none of the supported Git platforms, or if you need a tool requiring zero advanced configuration for serious professional use.
