Competera

AI-powered price optimization platform for retail chains, coupling competitor data collection and demand elasticity modeling

E-commerce

Overview

Competera is a price optimization platform for retail chains and omnichannel distributors. It breaks down into three offerings: Competitive Data, which collects and reconciles competitor prices; the Pricing Platform, which calculates optimal prices; and strategic pricing consulting. The engine combines classic rules (market alignment, cost-plus margin, psychological pricing) with demand elasticity modeling via machine learning, so as to trade off volume against margin rather than mechanically follow the cheapest competitor. The editor claims 1,700 collection robots, 3.8 million prices updated daily, coverage of 34 countries, and service commitments of 98% on data delivery and 99% on product matching. No pricing is published on the site.

Competera offers neither an interface nor a site in French: the entire journey, from documentation to support, is conducted in English, and the editor does not communicate EU data residency or a GDPR page on its commercial site. Data exchange passes through a documented repricing API, CSV and XML exports to your storefront, ERP, or CRM, and a certified connector to SAP S/4HANA available on the SAP Store, all of which assume a technical team on your side. The limitations are stark for an SME. The product is positioned on the chain segment, with references handling hundreds of thousands of articles, and the complete absence of published pricing makes preselector budgeting impossible without going through a sales rep. Elasticity modeling also requires a solid sales history.

Our verdict

Best for chains and distributors with a broad catalog, solid sales history, and a dedicated pricing team who want to move beyond simple competitive alignment. Not for you if you are an SME or solo e-merchant: no public pricing, no French interface, and an elasticity model that does not work on small transaction volumes.
