Composer

Build and automate trading strategies in plain English, no code required

Fintech & trading

Overview

Composer is a US-based fintech brokerage that lets you build algorithmic investment strategies via a no-code interface or natural language (the Trade with AI feature launched October 2025). Describe your strategy (momentum, sector rotation, options), Composer generates backtesting code, then executes orders automatically through Alpaca Securities. A Free plan gives access to backtests and community strategies; the Standard plan ($40/month or $384/year) unlocks full automation, options strategies and the public REST API.

Composer is exclusively available to US residents (US citizenship, address and SSN/ITIN required); EU residents cannot open accounts. The platform covers only US-listed stocks and ETFs plus options; crypto was discontinued. The public API (api.composer.trade) is documented and functional with API key auth, letting you manage strategies and place buy/sell orders. English-only interface.

Our verdict

Recommended for US traders wanting to automate a systematic strategy without coding, with quick access to reliable backtests. Not for you if you live outside the US (account access is impossible), trade non-US assets, or need to connect an existing broker.
