Overview

Fotor (launched in 2012) is an online photo editor and design tool available on desktop and mobile in 14 languages. It combines classic editing tools (crop, filters, collage, HDR) with AI features: background removal, image generation, photo enhancement and upscaling, and batch processing.

Pricing was restructured for 2026 into three tiers (Free, Pro, Pro+). The Pro plan removes key limits and unlocks essential AI features; the Pro+ plan ($19.99/month) targets agencies and businesses with brand kit and sales resources. Since February 2025, Fotor also offers an API program for developers (developers.fotor.com) for image generation, background removal and photo enhancement, with token-based pricing.

Our verdict

Recommended for small businesses and marketers who want a simple tool to create ads, social media posts and basic product retouching without a steep learning curve. Not suitable if you need advanced vector design or a complete brand library: Canva or BrandCrowd are better options.
