Overview

Lexis+ AI is the generative AI layer added to the LexisNexis platform, providing access to the world's largest legal database covering over 160 countries. The conversational assistant, Protégé, lets you perform searches, summarize decisions, draft research summaries and analyze documents directly from the interface or via Word. Citation validation is based on Shepard's, the American reference tool.

Pricing ranges from $125 to $275/user/month bundled with an existing Lexis+ subscription, all handled through LexisNexis sales team with no public pricing. Integration with Microsoft Word, Teams and Outlook is particularly developed. Harvey and LexisNexis announced a partnership in 2025.

Our verdict

Relevant for law firms and legal departments already subscribed to LexisNexis who want to add an AI layer to their existing search environment. If starting fresh, first compare Doctrine (which covers the French market) or Harvey. The opaque pricing model and contractual commitment remain main obstacles.
