Overview
Nanotronics designs high-precision automated inspection systems combining microscopy, robotics and AI (Gen V AI) for semiconductor, precision electronics and critical component manufacturers. Their Gen V model, pre-trained on a decade of defect data from hundreds of global manufacturers, uses a transformer architecture to automate quality inspection instantly.
In 2024, Nanotronics launched two new products: the nSpec LS Air (~$200,000) and nSpec PS Air (~$250,000) specialised for wafers, representing a 90% cost reduction versus existing solutions. Despite this reduction, the target remains high-tech manufacturers with extreme quality requirements, not general manufacturing workshops.
Our verdict
Reserved for semiconductor, microelectronics and precision component manufacturers with defence or space-grade quality requirements. The $200,000 entry ticket (hardware only) makes this an investment justified only for high-value-add production and currently costly rejection rates. Out of scope for a standard manufacturing SME.
