Overview
Pentera is an automated security validation platform that continuously simulates the techniques of real attackers: reconnaissance, exploitation, lateral movement, privilege escalation, exfiltration, without endangering production. Its modules cover internal network (Pentera Core), external surface (Pentera Surface), cloud and hybrid identities (Pentera Cloud) and automated remediation (Pentera Resolve).
Pentera replaces or complements the annual pentest audit by providing continuous validation based on actual exploitability, not theoretical CVSS scores. It serves companies in finance, healthcare, telecoms and government institutions. Deployment requires a structured network environment and an in-house security team to interpret results and drive remediation.
Our verdict
Pentera is a reference tool for CISOs wanting to objectively measure their security posture between two annual audits. Its "attack to validate" approach is more relevant than traditional vulnerability scanning. Reserved for structures with a dedicated security team and substantial budget. For an SMB without a CISO, the complexity level is prohibitive: use a traditional pentest service instead.
