Overview

Planity is appointment and management software for hair salons, barbershops, beauty institutes, spas and nail technicians, paired with a public marketplace at planity.com where the salon has a 24/7 bookable page. The Agenda plan covers online booking, salon profile, client file tracking, advance payments and deposits, booking buttons for social media and 300 reminder SMS included monthly. The Agenda + Checkout plan adds checkout software certified under French VAT anti-fraud law (NF525), the approval required to take retail payments in France, plus inventory management, gift card sales and accounting data export. Agenda + Checkout + Payment Terminal provides a payment terminal linked to the software, with suggested tips and daily transfers. The publisher does not publish any pricing: the three plans are commitment-free and quoted after discussion with an advisor, but the model itself is plain, a fixed subscription with no commission taken per booking.

Planity is a French publisher, and the product, support, billing and consumer marketplace all target salons established in France, which is also who the NF525 checkout certification serves: there is no case for the tool if you operate elsewhere. Its model is the clearest on the beauty market: fixed subscription, zero commission on appointments, no setup or maintenance fees, and a marketplace that brings customers with no commission per booking, unlike Treatwell. The 300 included reminder SMS in the Agenda plan avoid the per-message billing seen elsewhere. The publisher states that the client database belongs to the salon and can be retained if the partnership ends. Limitations stem first from pricing opacity: impossible to compare without speaking to a sales rep, and price varies by business size. Planity does not document a public API and remains focused on beauty and wellness. Marketplace visibility creates real dependency if it becomes your main customer acquisition channel.

Our verdict

Best for hair salons, barbershops and beauty institutes in France who want online scheduling, checkout certified under French VAT anti-fraud law (NF525) and marketplace visibility without paying per appointment: the bill is a subscription and nothing else. Not for you if you operate outside France, where neither the certification nor the marketplace applies, if you want to compare prices before talking to sales, or if you need an open API for your own system: Planity publishes neither pricing tiers nor technical documentation.
