Pleo
Corporate payment cards and expense management for European SMBs, with receipts captured and accounting export automated
Overview
Pleo combines physical and virtual payment cards, receipt capture from the mobile app, expense management, reimbursement of personal spending and automated export to accounting software. The French grid excludes taxes and displays four formulas: Starter at €4 per month (1 user included, 3 maximum, credit limit up to €5,000), Essential at €18 per month with annual commitment or €20 monthly (additional user at €11), Advanced at €99 per month annual or €109 monthly (3 users included, credit limit up to €250,000) and Business from €249 per month. Added are transaction fees the publisher details itself: €5 per withdrawal, €0.95 to €1.50 per bill payment by plan, or €6 to €8 per international transfer.
Pleo is a Danish publisher offering a site, app and support in French, with billing in euros and a regulated European entity, easing use for a French SMB. Accounting integrations cover common European software plus international ERPs, and a public API lets you push spending to an internal system. The caution point is real cost: the Starter plan is very limited (3 users, low credit cap) and the price per additional user, between €5 and €15 by formula, climbs the bill once a team exceeds a dozen cardholders. Ancillary fees are documented but add to subscription: €19 to €29 per chargeback, €5 to €15 per replacement physical card.
Our verdict
Best for French SMBs wanting to eliminate expense advances and paper receipts, with a French interface and support and billing in euros. Not for you if you have many cardholders for small amounts: additional-user pricing and per-transaction fees make the tool expensive against real spending volume.
