The free plan includes generous monthly quotas (1 million analytics events, 5,000 session recordings, 1 million feature flag queries) without a credit card, letting a small team cover the essentials of product instrumentation free of charge. A self-hosted open-source option exists for teams that want full data control.
PostHog runs a cloud region hosted in Europe (Frankfurt) alongside the US region, meeting data residency needs for companies in France concerned with GDPR. The interface remains English-only, with no announced French localization. Highly valued by engineering teams for open documentation and transparent usage-based pricing, the platform still requires a product or engineering team to make use of all its modules, some of which (feature flags, experimentation) assume integration into application code.
