Overview
Power BI is Microsoft's business intelligence solution, fully integrated into the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. Since 2024, Copilot adds an AI layer: automatic report generation from natural language descriptions, intelligent dashboard summaries, visual suggestions, and direct answers to data questions in the interface. Pro version (€14/user/month) covers most SME needs; Copilot itself requires Fabric F64 subscription or higher, reserved for enterprises with substantial budgets.
For SMEs already equipped with Microsoft 365, Power BI Pro is the natural choice: familiarity with Excel, native connectors to SharePoint and Teams, and a fully French interface. Basic AI features (Q&A, suggestions) are available with Pro; advanced Copilot functions remain enterprise-only.
Our verdict
The obvious choice for any SME already in the Microsoft universe. Adoption takes a few days, but French training resources abound. Avoid if your stack is Google Workspace or if you don't have someone to build proper data models: Power BI without a well-constructed data model produces unusable reports.
