Semrush
The most complete SEO and marketing suite to dominate organic search
Overview
Semrush is the global reference for all-in-one SEO tools: keyword research, technical audit, rank tracking, competitive analysis, backlinks, and advertising. Its database covers 140+ countries and billions of keywords. In 2024-2026, Semrush integrated AI for brief generation, assisted writing, and AI visibility analysis (GEO).
For a French SME, the Pro plan (~$140/month) is often sufficient: track 500 keywords, 5 projects, full audits. The tool also includes social network features, PR relations, and content marketing capabilities. The learning curve is real but educational resources (Semrush Academy) are excellent.
Our verdict
Essential for any SME taking SEO seriously with a marketing budget. A marketer or consultant who masters Semrush has real competitive advantage. Avoid if you're just starting in SEO without guidance: the tool is powerful but complex, and $140/month is an investment to justify. Very small businesses on tight budgets will turn to SE Ranking.

What drives the bill up
Semrush charges in dollars, even from France: your bank adds exchange fees and the actual amount debited varies monthly with the rate. Additional seats are paid on all plans, and multiple modules (Trends data, content management, advertising) are sold as options that easily double an agency's bill.
