Overview
Sencrop is Europe's leading hyperlocal agricultural weather service: connected stations (Raincrop rain gauge, Windcrop anemometer, Leafcrop humidity sensor) installed at plot edge upload real-time data that truly matters to farmers: rainfall, frost, wind. To optimise irrigation, phytosanitary treatment and harvest decisions, the new 4G station generation (2024) is modular: start with the base kit and add sensors as needs evolve.
The Sencrop app aggregates data from 30,000+ European stations, letting farmers access neighbour weather even without their own station. Subscription plans start at around €157/year (Essential) and climb to €227/year (Weather Pro) with integrated decision-support tools. The interface is fully in French, as is support. The Lille startup, founded 2016, has raised over €20M and now covers all of Europe.
Our verdict
The most relevant solution for a French farmer or cooperative wanting reliable plot-scale weather data without heavy investment. The data-sharing network between neighbours is a genuine competitive advantage. Avoid only if your farm is in a very limited network coverage area (isolated mountains): 4G connectivity remains essential.
