Sourcegraph Cody

Enterprise AI assistant that understands your entire multi-repo codebase for ultra-precise answers

Développement & no-code

Overview

Sourcegraph Cody is the AI code assistant from Sourcegraph, built for large organisations managing dozens or hundreds of repositories. Its distinctive strength is cross-repo semantic code search: Cody can answer questions like "where is authentication managed across all our services?" by traversing the entire indexed codebase. It supports multiple underlying LLMs (Claude, GPT-4o, Gemini) per enterprise preference.

As of July 2025, Sourcegraph discontinued Free and Pro individual plans. Cody is now exclusive to Sourcegraph Enterprise, billed on request at roughly $59/user/month on annual contract. This positions it firmly in the large-account segment and excludes individual developers. Sourcegraph officially recommends its new Amp tool for solo developers.

Our verdict

Recommended for large enterprises with complex, multi-repo codebases where cross-repo search and multi-LLM compliance are priorities. Avoid for SMEs or solo developers: enterprise pricing and the removal of individual plans since 2025 make this inaccessible outside large accounts.
