Undermind

Deep research agent for scientific literature that explores iteratively like a human expert would

Recherche académique & science

Overview

Undermind uses advanced LLMs to conduct deep bibliographic research iteratively and adaptively: it reformulates search queries based on intermediate results, explores unexpected leads, and produces a detailed report justifying why each paper was retained or discarded. Used by researchers at MIT, Harvard, Caltech, Princeton, and by GSK for R&D missions.

The free version offers 3 in-depth searches per month. The $20/month Pro plan gives 30. The interface is English only. Searches can take several minutes as the agent works exhaustively. Better suited for deep research missions than quick searches; designed for scientific surveillance or complex R&D due diligence.

Our verdict

Best for R&D scientists, doctors seeking the state of the art on complex clinical questions, and innovation consultants needing exhaustive and justified bibliographic exploration. Not for you if you need quick or one-off searches: Consensus or Semantic Scholar are more appropriate.
