Zenchef
French booking and dining room management software for restaurants, with zero commission per cover, starting at 129 EUR per month
Overview
Zenchef is a French booking and management software for restaurants, used by over 36,000 establishments worldwide. Its main selling point is zero commission per cover: bookings come through the restaurant's website widget, Google Reserve, Instagram and Facebook and the Zenchef app, with no booking-time charge. Three monthly plans are offered: Reserve at 129 EUR per month for online booking, customer reviews and 24/7 phone support; Manage at 169 EUR per month adds floor plan, waitlist and no-show prevention tools; Grow at 249 EUR per month for groups and fine dining with email campaigns, advanced customer management, multi-location control and API access. Add-ons are billed separately.
Zenchef is published in France, with website, pricing and support in French. The publisher acquired Guestonline, whose website now says "Guestonline becomes Zenchef" and directs new customers to the ZenchefOS platform. The zero-commission model avoids marketplace cuts, but Zenchef does not offer the same exposure as a major consumer directory: visibility depends mainly on your website and Google. Add-ons raise the bill: website 29 EUR per month, marketing suite 29 EUR, groups feature 29 EUR, Meta Reserve 19 EUR, automated SMS 49 EUR and AI Call assistant 99 EUR per month, the latter capped at 500 monthly minutes. Deposits, installments and card imprints are subject to commissions that decrease by plan tier, and API access is limited to the Grow plan.
Our verdict
Best for independent restaurants and French groups who want to own their customer file and reject per-cover commission from marketplaces, with clear public pricing. Avoid if you rely on a directory to fill tables, or if your budget is tight: 129 EUR per month plus add-ons quickly exceeds the cost of a simple reservation tool.
