Booksy
Booking and checkout software for beauty salons at a single price of 59 EUR ex-tax per month, with marketplace and SMS reminders included
Overview
Booksy is booking, checkout and marketing software for hair salons, barbershops, beauty institutes and wellness practitioners, backed by a public app that lists establishments. The French price is single-tier: 59 EUR ex-tax per month, all features included, plus 10 EUR ex-tax per month per additional team member, no commitment and seven-day free trial. The subscription covers unlimited bookings, appointment confirmations and SMS reminders at no extra charge, 100 free marketing SMS per month, email marketing, waitlists, consent forms, no-show protection and checkout software certified under French VAT anti-fraud law (NF525), required to take retail payments in France. Two things stay apart on the invoice: that subscription, and the commission on payments taken, billed 1.5% + 0.25 EUR ex-tax per online transaction and 1.19% + 0.20 EUR ex-tax on Tap to Pay.
The interface, professional website and support are in French. Booksy acquired the French publisher Kiute Pro, formerly Flexy and LeCiseau: kiute.com and pro.kiute.com now redirect to Booksy. It is the only beauty player in this panel that combines a marketplace with zero commission: the publisher states no billing for new customers found online, bookings or customer count, so the whole cost is the subscription plus the card processing fees. Appointment reminders via SMS are included, eliminating the cost line that Fresha or SimplyBook.me charge. The checkout is certified under French VAT anti-fraud law (NF525), a legal requirement for any register taking retail payments in France; the rates quoted here are Booksy's French ones, and a salon operating in another country answers to its own local rules instead. Limitations are real: per-seat pricing becomes expensive for larger teams, no public API is documented, and the Kiute brand exit forced migration for legacy French users.
Our verdict
Best for salons and institutes in France who want clear single pricing, included SMS reminders, checkout certified under French VAT anti-fraud law (NF525) and a zero-commission marketplace on new customers: only the card processing fees sit on top of the subscription. Not for you if you have a large team, since at 10 EUR ex-tax per additional member the bill grows fast, or if the lack of a public API blocks integration with your own management system.
