Tractable is a UK-based scale-up founded in 2014, pioneering computer-vision AI for damage assessment in auto and home insurance. From photos taken by the driver or policyholder with their smartphone, the platform identifies damaged parts, estimates severity, and generates repair quotes in seconds. It won the Global Recognition Award 2026 for insurance innovation.
Tractable is used by major insurers across Europe, North America, and Japan to automate first-level claims assessment. In partnership with Mitchell and Verisk, it is available to North American repair networks. Insurers report cost reductions of up to 73% in claims handling and settlement times reduced by 10x, notably at Compensa (Poland) and MAPFRE (Brazil).
